What is a spray tan?
The active ingredient that creates your tan is DHA, a colourless sugar that reacts with proteins on the surface of your skin to gradually develop your tan.
The colour you see immediately after your appointment is bronzer. It’s added to help guide for an even application and give you instant colour while your tan develops underneath.
How does a mobile spray tan work?
Before we begin, I’ll need a space of approximately 5 by 5 feet to set up my equipment, tent, and machine, as well as access to an electrical outlet for the spray tanning application.
During your appointment, we’ll discuss your desired customizable tan, including color, tone, and darkness, to ensure you feel confident and satisfied with the results of your spray tan.
The whole session will take approximately 30 minutes, including both setup and cleanup—then you’ll be ready to GLOW!
How long will the tan last?
A spray tan typically lasts between 7 to 10 days. This duration can vary based on your aftercare routine and how frequently you exfoliate. With excellent skin care, your tan can even last up to 14 days.
How many days before an event should I book?
For a big event such as a wedding, I recommend booking your spray tan 2–3 days before the event. This gives your tan time to fully develop and settle into its most natural-looking colour.
How long does the appointment take?
Your appointment takes approximately 30 minutes from start to finish, including setup and breakdown. I keep everything efficient and streamlined, so you can be in and out with a beautiful, even spray tan without having to set aside a lot of time.
What do I wear during my spray tan?
Wear whatever you feel most comfortable tanning in. Most clients choose to wear minimal clothing, such as underwear, a thong, or nothing at all, to avoid tan lines.
For men, boxers or swim shorts are great options.
Can I choose how tanned I am?
Absolutely! Each customizable tan is tailored to your preferences. Before applying the tanning solution, I will consult with you to determine the depth of tan you want to achieve with your spray tan.
Will the tan stain my clothes or sheets?
You may experience slight rub off from the cosmetic bronzer immediately after your spray tan, but after your first shower, there should be no transfer to your clothing. If you notice any color transfer from spray tan, rest assured that it will easily wash out in the washing machine.
Can I get a tan whilst pregnant or nursing?
Yes! However, I always recommend getting approval from your doctor before your spray tan.
Can I get a tan with a sunburn?
For the health and safety of your skin, I cannot provide a spray tan if you are sunburnt or peeling. Spray tanning on sunburned or healing skin can lead to uneven colour and patchiness, and might cause discomfort. If you're uncertain whether your skin is ready for a spray tan, feel free to reach out!
